The General Company for Iron and Steel Products, Hama- Syria, is deemed one of the major leading steel manufacturing companies on the local and regional standards. It produces all kinds of iron and steel products. Since its foundation in 1974, the company has undergone through many developmental phases, the latest of which was the modernization and up-gradation of the Steel Melting Plant by the Indian company Apollo International limited, and made it possible to enter the field of modern industrial techniques and automation and contributed to a great extent to improve the productivity and increase the revenues of the company, furthermore, it made the iron and steel products a locally-produced commodity available in the national markets
The General Company for Iron and Steel Products was established under the legislative decree No.113 of 1974 instead of Al-Hadid company, which had already been established under decree No. 142 of 1970, then followed to the General Organization for Engineering Industries as from 01/01/1975 and nominated to carry-out all the works of processing and producing rebars, and all other iron and steel production o, metal alloys, searching and mining for ores, scrap melting, and manufacturing the sanitary metal pipes, In general, to carry-out all the works of mining and manufacturing of Iron and steel products.
